'Adha Bagh' also known as half garden is a scattered embroidery work in typical Bagh style, without covering the base of the fabric completely. Adha Bagh is traditionally done with golden yellow, white and pink silken floss threads. The design has Phulkari classic full medallion motif also perceived as a cauliflower (gobi) design with four concentric lozenges at its centre. The outer one symbolises the Earth, the next is the city and the third one is the ancestral house. The last lozenge at the core symbolises the home of the married couple. The border is done in panchranga ( five colours ). The border is trimmed with wheat flowers. The base fabric is handwoven khaddar cotton dyed in madder red. Colour red symbolises happiness, prosperity, love, fertility, auspiciousness, energy and power. The red coloured base Phulkaris and Baghs were always the part of the wedding trousseau for the young bride. To personalised the Phulkaris name were often inked on it by the maker, as seen here in one of the images. .
