Collection: Textiles of Gujarat
Gujarat Single & Double Ikat Sarees started in 1950's when one of the weavers working with Salvis moved from Patan to Rajkot to run a patola weaving training centre ‘Rastriya Shala’ sponsored by Khadi and Village Industries Commission. It made Ikats of Gujarat more accessible. The opulent heirloom Patan Patolas are still the most expensive Ikats amongst varieties of Ikat weaves from India due to the tedious process involved in its making and are always double Ikat.
