Punarnawa Soul of Artistry
The Kham Assam Muga Handloom Silk Sari (Made to order)
The Kham Assam Muga Handloom Silk Sari (Made to order)
Punarnawa ethically sources rare and exquisite Assamese Muga silk from the indigenous tribes of Assam, a spiritual and delicate harvesting process. The Muga Sumoni, cared for by 24 hour protectors, is predicted to become extinct due to the climate crisis in the next 20-30 years. Our sarees are crafted with the finest Katiya Muga silk with its natural golden luster, exclusively designed for clients with naturally dyed extra weft in natural silk like Eri, Muga, Tussar.
This royal ‘Kham Sari’ captures the grandeur of the Tai Ahom kingdom. The design is vintage, sourced from the 13th century archives and featuring kingkhap motifs with mythical dragons, peacocks and floral jaals. The body is adorned with a royal floral kingkhap for a sophisticated look. Sublime balance and grace is provided through the delicate border around the saree.
